Addiction is becoming an increasingly apparent problem in our communities. Addiction affects everyone in the community - the addicts, their loved ones, their friends, their employers and their co-workers - and we all play a role in the recovery process.

Comprehensive, Flexible Treatment

Wyoming Recovery tailors comprehensive, flexible treatments for alcohol and other drug addictions to the individual needs and schedules of our patients. Our goal is to assist each person with life changes that will enable ongoing abstinence and recovery, resulting in improved health and function for our patients and their families.

Our treatment approach is holistic, addressing physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of health. We provide group and individual therapy, a wide variety of assignments and educational/therapeutic experiences, as well as access to daily twelve step groups.

Levels of Care

At Wyoming Recovery, a patient may begin treatment at residential or outpatient levels of care, depending on the assessment of multiple dimensions, such as: need for detoxification, presence of complicating physical or emotional symptoms and level of support in home/work environments. Typically, a patient will transition from one level to another depending on progress, not a fixed length of stay. We offer the following levels of care:

DETOXIFICATION: Medical monitoring and support for patients experiencing or anticipating significant withdrawal symptoms. Medications are prescribed when necessary and patients are cared for in a 24-hour setting.

RESIDENTIAL: Seven days per week programming in supervised, 24-hour housing, with our full range of therapeutic and educational services.

PARTIAL DAY/EVENING TREATMENT: This treatment option follows most or all of the residential schedule but is for patients who do not require 24-hour care and who will spend nights at home.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM: Provides nine or more hours a week of group and individual therapy while living at home and possibly continuing to work. This can be the level of entry to treatment or a transition from residential treatment.

Family Support

Families are encouraged to attend weekly family sessions where Wyoming Recovery therapists help focus the family on education, communication, problem solving, healing the past and planning for the future.

Continuing Care/Relapse Prevention

Successful long-term recovery is more likely with longer involvement in the treatment process. Wyoming Recovery offers weekly continuing care sessions for the months after completion of residential or Intensive Outpatient levels of care. In these groups, graduates address various issues of sober living in the real world setting, helping to reduce the risk of relapse.

Professionals Program

Addictions affect people from every walk of life. There are particular issues that make diagnosis, treatment and reentry challenging when addiction occurs in a physician, nurse, pharmacist, attorney, executive or other professional. Often there are highly developed defenses, as well as heightened senses of guilt and shame. Regulation and licensure issues can permanently threaten careers. Wyoming Recovery’s Professionals Program incorporates local recovering professionals, support groups, augmented psychological/psychiatric assessments, advocacy, and aftercare.

Chronic Pain

It is common for people with chronic pain diagnoses to develop addictions. At Wyoming Recovery, we can often help in these complex situations. Many times the narcotic medications have ceased being the solution and have instead become the problem. We are certified and experienced in the use of Suboxone (buprenorphine), the new gold standard for detoxification from narcotic medications. Suboxone is also a useful component of chronic pain management. We have experience in the use of acupuncture, as well as non-addicting medications for chronic pain management.
